Welcome to The Macedonian Community of WA (Inc.)

The Macedonian people and culture have a long history that extends before Christ. Our culture is marked by a richness in language, food, dance, beliefs of family and kinship. Over the past 100 years many Macedonian people have migrated to Australia, sadly leaving their home to settle in a land less turbulent for the benefit of their family. Australia welcomed our people and we are proud to call Australia home. This community has been formed to provide a medium for Macedonians living in WA to maintain the spirit of their culture, but importantly contribute and add to the developing Australian Multicultural society.

Take a moment to walk through our website. It is a source of information and contacts for members and our Australian friends.  Please contact us if you would like to contribute your comments or find out more about us.

MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE CLASSES 2012

The Macedonian Community of WA Inc is delighted to provide an opportunity for all families and their children to learn the Macedonian language.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of multiculturalism and diversity in terms of culture and our global future and supports the maintenance of community languages.

Learning a second language opens up new dimensions for young people.  It greatly benefits their reading and writing skills and contributes significantly to their ability to think and learn.  It also gives young people an opportunity to experience other cultures.  Macedonians have a rich cultural heritage and language classes will afford young people with the chance to share in the Macedonian culture.

The Macedonian Community of WA Inc recognises the value of language learning for future generations and seeks your support for this project.  If you or your child are interested in attending Macedonian community language classes please complete the attached form and return to the locations listed at the bottom of the form.

All are welcome and background in the Macedonian language is not essential.
